Educational cooperation with Kano State
The Ambassador of France, Jacques Champagne Labriolle, and the Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, renewed for a period of 5 years the educational cooperation 1995 agreement between France and Kano .
Considering the francophone environment of Nigeria, this agreement aims at strengthening the bilateral cooperation in favour of initial and continuous training of French teachers of the State of Kano, the promotion of contemporary course books and the support of the teaching of French on primary and secondary State and private schools.

The State of Kano will participate in the training of French teachers by setting a French Language resource centre but also with the organization of seminars in Kano State and study tours in the Republic of Niger.
The Embassy of France will bring along its expertise and its methodological and pedagogical support to the model schools selected by the State of Kano but also to the colleges of education and the universities of the State. Already two teachers from Kano State are in France for a month long seminar all expenses borne by the Embassy of France as well as the President of the Association of French Teachers, Kano State branch who was invited to France in March by the Embassy.
