Mandolin and the French master Julien Martineau honored
In partnership with Transcorp Hilton of Abuja, the French Institute of Nigeria organised an exceptional evening of classical music in the Nigerian capital city on 30th October.
Indeed, in the framework of an African tour across around ten countries, the French virtuoso Julien MARTINEAU marveled us with his talent. He played the “Preludes for mandolin solo” by Italian composer Raffaele CALACE, born 150 years ago.
The audience of more than 150 people was transported through astonishment and enchantment by a unique classical music program alike “Paganini’s Capriccios for solo violin”.
The artist answered to the questions of his audience with a lot of kindness during a cocktail offered by the Ambassador of France, Jacques CHAMPAGNE de LABRIOLLE, after having demonstrated that mandolin is also a marvelous classical instrument.
He has also accepted a meeting with the students of French School Marcel Pagnol of Abuja.
