COAFR official visit to Lagos

On the occasion of the official visit to Lagos of the COAFR (Africa Working Group of the Council of the European Union), the Consul General of France in Lagos, Mr. Laurent Favier, hosted a reception at the Alliance Française de Lagos - Mike Adenuga Center, highlighting Nigeria’s cultural and creative industries.

The delegation was able to meet some of Nigeria’s leading talents from the animation, movie, video game, esport and fashion sectors, which France has been strongly supporting for several years.

The members of the delegation visited the Alliance française de Lagos, a unique venue with a rich and diverse program, illustrating the close ties between France and Nigeria, and the francophilia of many Nigerians. They also enjoyed the "Together Design" group exhibition, which showcased the creative practices and collaborative strength of five Nigerian-based designers.

For the European delegation, the meeting was an opportunity to have an insight into the thriving cultural and creative activity in Lagos and to explore possibilities for collaboration, while noting the strong links between the services of the French embassy in Nigeria and Nigerian partners in these fast-growing sectors.

This collaboration will continue in the coming months, through various dedicated programs and the invitation of Nigerian talent to key events.
